Samuel C. Dotson, 80, of Wellsville, went to his heavenly home, Friday, December 22, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born, July 1, 1937, in West Union, WV., he was a son of the late Edward Dotson and Rachel Flemming Debolt.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Blake.

Sam was a 1955 graduate of Doddridge County High School. He later married the love of his life, Rose Marie Brown Dotson and raised his family in Weirton, WV. before moving to Wellsville.  

Directly out of high school Sam started his career as a carpenter apprentice. He quickly became the Vice President/ Project Manager of several companies and traveled across the country for his career.

Sam leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Rose Marie Brown Dotson of Wellsville; his son, Samuel Eugene (Luanna) Dotson of North Carolina; his daughters, Kathleen Walden of North Carolina, Cheryl Romanyak of Weirton and Darla (Mike) Thomas of Wellsville; his brother, Oliver Dotson of FL.; and his sister, Agnes Smith of Parkersburg, WV.; half brothers Charles and Paul Dotson from West Union , WV and a half sister Sue Johnson from Alma , WV.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 10 great children and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 26, from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, December 27, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, where funeral services will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, December 28. Pastor Dave Van Buskirk will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery in East Liverpool. Following the interment, a gathering for food and fellowship will be held at the Frist Christian Church in Chester.
