East Liverpool, OH.

Ronald C. Newlun of Old Fredericktown Rd. passed away at his home on Saturday, December 7, 2019, after being diagnosed with cancer in March.

A son of Geraldine Fisher Adams of East Liverpool and the late Alfred C. Newlun, Ron was born in East Liverpool on December 1, 1944. 75 years old, Ron was a lifelong resident of the Tri-State area.

A former employee of Crucible Steel and J&L Steel, Ron retired as a crane operator from ATI Steel in 2008. A compassionate lover of animals, Ron was a horse owner and trainer of thorough breed racehorses since the 1960s. Besides his love of animals, Ron was an excellent Blackjack player, a craft that he did quite well at. A Christian by faith, he was a graduate of East Liverpool High School.

Along with with his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Randy, John (Buck), and Joe Newlun; and his stepfather, Fred Adams.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy McGraw Newlun who he married on August 13, 1998; his children, Nicole Milbauer of Texas, David Howard of East Liverpool, Brian Newlun of Chester, Rhonda McCroy of Chester, Jan Johnson of California, and Sandra Hutching of Seattle, Washington; two sisters, Charlotte Russell of Harrisburg, PA., and Julie Adams of Wellsville; and several grand and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to those who helped care for Ron during his illness, Nicole Milbauer, David Howard, Justus Milbauer, Elizabeth Pharr, Jeordyn Sollick, Ally Davis, and Cheryl Ciaramitaro of ALMS Hospice. Ron’s wife Kathy would to give a very special thanks to her dear friend, Nancy Davidson who stood by her side through this nine-month ordeal.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, and Ron is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
