Robert Walter Wilson, 81, of Chester, passed away, Friday, February 15, 2019, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, following a lengthy illness.
Born, October 1, 1937, in Chester, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Martha Kalesta Eberhart Wilson.
He was in the United States Navy from 1958-1959.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann and his sister-in-law, Donna Marie Wright; granddaughter, Lauren Lavender; sister, Marceline Adkins, Marilyn Register and by his brothers, Jackson Clark Wilson, and Mike Wilson.
He was a Deputy Sheriff and a Patrolman in Chester before going to North Carolina, where he constructed motels. Upon retirement, he and his wife built a mini storage in Boonville, North Carolina.
Survived by his sisters, Susan Garner and Ruby Lou Washburn and brother, Roscoe Wilson and his wife, Judy and by his best friends, Sonny, and Illa Murray; sister-in-laws, Lane Wilson and Shirley Richards.
He is also survived by 6 children, Jody Moody, Margee McKenna and her husband Tim, Robert George Wilson and his wife Kim, Lisa Davis and her husband George, Mary Lavender and her husband Pat, Donna Vidt and her husband Doug; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Emily, Tyler, Grey and his wife Jasmine, Josh and his wife Holly, Robert and his wife Tana, Lucas, Bryant, Chelsea, Wyatt, Jack and Avery; great-grandchildren, Branton, Benton, Kennedy, Carter, Aiden, Dylan and Roman.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 10:00 AM, in the chapel at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester. The Arner Funeral Chapel handled these arrangements. Food and fellowship will follow at the American Legion in Chester Post #121.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
