Paul L. Cunningham, 88, of East Liverpool, passed away, Monday, April 1, 2019, at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.
Born, February 22, 1931, at his home in Chester, he was a son of the late, Theodore R. and Hettie Reed Cunningham.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Miriam Colbert and by his brothers, Marvin, Ted, and Ron Cunningham.
Paul was a graduate of Chester High School and he was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the East Liverpool First Church of the Nazarene.
He worked for many years at Patterson Foundry as a Floor Supervisor. He later retired at age 72 from CCW Machine Shop.
Paul enjoyed attending Car Show’s with his son Steve, and he also bowled for numerous years at Head Pin Lanes.
He was strong, brave and had tremendous integrity. Paul was family oriented and he just adored his wife of 61 years, Olive Thomas Cunningham who survives him.
He also leaves his sons, Greg Cunningham (Kathy), and Steve Cunningham and his wife Tammy all of East Liverpool; sisters, Bonnie Jividen and her husband Harold of St. Petersburg, FL., Margaret Boyd and Gloria Zehnder of East Liverpool; and grandchildren, Matthew Cunningham, Justin Cunningham both of Nashville, TN., Joel Cunningham and Chase Cunningham both of East Liverpool.
Dr. Robert Sylvies will celebrate Paul’s life, Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 12:00 PM, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Interment will follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery where the National Guard and Chester American Legion Post 121-VFW Post 6450 Honor Guard will accord full military honors. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Wednesday, April 3, 2019, from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM.
