Paul Cox Jr

Paul Cox Jr, 90 passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2108 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born May 12, 1927 in Thursday, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Paul and Odell Frederick Cox.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mabel Lee Cox who passed away January 2, 2012.  Additionally,he was preceded in death by his daughter June Ann Cox, brothers Ulysses Cox, Mike Frederick, sisters Mabel Sergeant, Loretta Miller, Midge Frederick, Flora Frederick Kearnes, Helen Frederick, and Marzetta Frederick Angeley.

Paul was a graduate of Harrisville High School in Ritchie County, West Virginia, raised his family in New Cumberland and worked 42 years for Weirton Steel.  An avid outdoorsman and hunter, Paul was a member of the Chester-Newell Sportsman Club and served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Paul H. Cox II of New Cumberland, daughters Fran (Richard) Jones of Weirton, Pat (Paul) Wilkinson of Belmont, Ohio., sister Betty Haugh of Parkersburg, WV. Grandchildren Michael Clifford, Bradley and Adam Cox, step grandchildren Paul III and Michael Wilkinson and Rich Jones, great-grandson Isaac Clifford and step great-grandchildren Kaiden and Zane Jones and Jarod and Kennedy Wilkinson.

Friends may visit with the family from Noon-2 and 4-5:30pm on Friday, April 13 at the Arner Funeral Chapel where Pastor Rick Tinsky will celebrate his life at 5:30pm.
