Mary Virginia Souchak, 94 of Chester, WV., and formerly of Weirton, passed away at the Orchards of East Liverpool on Saturday, March 31, 2018, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Donora, PA., on July 15, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Marchinchuck Zuza.
Mary was a loving homemaker and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Weirton, where she belonged to St. Joseph Christian Mothers. Also, she belonged to the Three Score Senior Club and she was a graduate of Weir High School. While living in Chester, Mary attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Preceding Mary in death was her husband, Mike Souchak on May 7, 1991, her children, Patricia (Patty) Puzzuole and Michael Souchak Jr., two brothers, Joe and Richard Zuza, and one sister, Clara Gambos.
Survivors include her children, Ronald Souchak and his wife Darlene of Chester and Karen Kinney and her husband Rick of Bel Air, Maryland; her sister, Irene Hrustic of Weirton; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Father Tony Thurston will preside over Catholic Funeral Liturgy on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Weirton. Interment will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Weirton. Arrangements are in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
