New Cumberland, WV.
Mark James “Jamie” “Ackie” Ackerman, 60 of New Cumberland, Passed away peacefully, Friday, July 19, 2019, at his home with his loving wife at his side.
Mark was born on October 16, 1958, in Youngstown to Karen Sue Poulton Ackerman of Columbiana, and the late Donald Ralph Ackerman. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and cousin.
He was employed as a service advisor at Hancock County Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealer in Newell. Earlier, he had worked in service and parts at TAD Motors, Grand Ford, Tri-State Ford, C. Hackett, and Central Service. Mark enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the deer, riding his four-wheeler, mowing his lawn, playing ball with his dog, B.B., and playing with his daughter’s cats, Scarlet, and Buckeye. He was a great Pittsburgh Steeler fan and enjoyed game night with his wife. An avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, he loved watching all the games with his daughter Jenni. Mark loved and enjoyed all that life had to offer, and thankfully, had accepted God as his Lord and savior.
Mark will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Beth Cox Ackerman; his step-daughters, Jenni and Ila Ireland; his mom, Kay Ackerman; his brothers, Benji and Jeff Ackerman; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; his loving dog B.B.; and his daughters' cats, Scarlet, and Buckeye.
Friends are invited to visit with Marks family on Monday afternoon and evening at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where they will be present from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Marks family would like to thank the nurses and physicians who cared for him as well as Valley Hospice for their compassion and care. Also, thanks to all the Ross Road family and friends, and co-workers that Mark wanted to be with again. And finally, as Mark would say “Peace”.
