Margaret Alliene Allison, 77 of Calcutta passed away at the Calcutta Health Care Center on Thursday, August 24, 2017, following a brief illness.

Born in Chester on April 29, 1940, Margaret was one of nine children born to the late Donald E. and Ethel G. Yonally Allison.

She was born and raised on her family’s farm behind Chester where she learned strong family values, which lead to a strong sense of compassion and caring for others. Margaret had lived in Florida for several years before moving back to this area to be near her family. She loved to socialize and had many endearing memories of her extended family at Senior Link.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walker T. Elkins, her second husband, Steve Kisson two brothers, Robert and Ray Allison, and two sisters, Helen Johnson and Marie Elliott.

Margaret leaves four brothers, Errett Allison, and Elbert Allison and his wife Darlene of Chester, Myron Allison and his wife Chris of Stow Ohio, and Deane Allison of Sebring, Ohio, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank her personal care giver, Robin Merriman, and the Calcutta Health Center for the wonderful care that they provided to Margaret.

Her family will celebrate her life on Saturday, August 26 at 12:00 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday, two hours prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at the Locust Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
