Lanny Stewart, 63, of Chester, died suddenly, Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born, May 7, 1955, in Newell, he is a son of Helen Hart Stewart of Chester and the late Bernard W. Stewart.
Lanny attended the Hookstown Free Methodist Church.
He was a graduate of South Side High School. Lanny was a lifelong learner and always embraced new challenges. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Technical Institute and the Pittsburgh Art Institute.
For many years Lanny worked for Electronic Data Services working on computers.
Lanny was an avid gardener who had an extraordinary “green thumb”, a special love for flowers and would spend endless hours working on them. He also enjoyed photography and art. He loved to sit and enjoy the beauty that he created.
He was an animal lover and will be deeply missed by his special friend, Buddy.
Lanny is survived by his mother along with brother, Dan Stewart and his wife Scherrie of Chester WV; sister, Shirley Berger and her husband Larry of Hookstown, PA; nieces Christie Mellinger and Deanna (Chris) Wilhelm; nephews, Larry (Lisa) Berger, and Tommy Berger; great-nieces, Katelyn Berger, Kimora Wilhelm and Danielle Mellinger and great-nephews, David Mellinger, Jacob Berger, and Tyler Berger.
Pastor Wilmer J. Olszewski and Pastor Paul Treese will celebrate Lanny’s life on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. Friends may visit with Lanny’s family on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 2:00 PM-7:00 PM at Arner Funeral Chapel, Chester WV. A private interment will be held at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.
