Katherine Williams Obituary

Katherine M. Williams, 73, of Wellsville, passed away, Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at her son’s home surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy illness.

Born, January 3, 1946, in East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Bernice “Bud” and Helen E. Davis Southhall.

Katherine received her GED and later became of a graduate of Kent State University, where she studied accounting. She was formerly employed at Hardee’s and Smile Gas Station in South Carolina. She also formerly worked at New York Restaurant, Speedy Car Wash and Family Dollar in East Liverpool.

Katherine was a member of Sheraton AME and the House of Prayer. She followed in her mother’s footsteps and helped organize the Fulmer Park Playground Feeding Program.

Katherine’s family described her as a bulldog with a thirty-pound purse, heartwarming, strong and resilient. She will be missed by her entire family.

She leaves behind her son, Paul “Allen” Williams and his wife Petina Wellsville; daughter, Darlene Williams and her husband, Richard of Lisbon; brothers, William “Bill” Williams and his wife Ruth of East Liverpool and Edward Williams of Kentucky; sisters, Eleanor Eggleston of Lisbon and Helen Pack and her husband Eddie of East Liverpool; grandchildren, Amanda Cunningham, Tenya Jo Mortimer, John Triner, and David and Billy Williams. She will also be missed by her 14 great-grandchildren.

Katherine was preceded in death by her brothers, Elwood “Sonny” and George Williams.  

The family would like to thank the Community Hospice staff for their compassionate care. Also, thanks to her caretaker’s Tami Phillips and Crystal Knepp for caring for Katherine as their own.

Pastor Kim Gadd will celebrate Susie’s life Friday, September 20, 2019, at 1:00 PM, at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Spring Grove Cemetery.  Following the graveside service, the family will continue food and fellowship at the House of Prayer in Calcutta. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service, from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM.
