Joseph M. Huska, 70, of New Cumberland passed away at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh on Monday, January 29, 2018, of complications from agent orange exposure during the Vietnam War.
Joe was a son of Helen Huska of Midland and the late Frank Huska. He was born in East Liverpool on July 22, 1947.
Joe retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as an electrician. Earlier he was employed by Duquesne Light at their Bruce Mansfield plant in Shippingport. He was a Catholic by faith and a graduate of Midland High School. Joe proudly served his country with the US Army, serving one tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the Chester American Legion Post 121 and VFW Post 6450.
Joe leaves his loving wife, Deborah McDougle Huska who he married in 1999. Also, surviving are his children, Cody Goodlin and fiancée Jackie of Steubenville, Lisa Huska of Pittsburgh, Roberta “Bobbie” Patterson and her husband Jim of Industry, and Deborah Huska of Weirton. There is one sister, Christine Huska of Midland. Eight grandchildren, Carter Goodlin, Steven Rowley, Ben & Alex Vanholton, Hunter, Jonathan, & Taraji Backur, and Gracie Patterson, also survive.
A family friend, David Hess will officiate as family and friends convene at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday at 1:00 p.m., to celebrate Joe’s life. His family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-5 p.m., and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 1:00. He will be entombed following the Friday services, at the New Cumberland Cemetery, where the Chester American Legion Post 121/VFW Post 6450 Honor Guard will accord full military honors.
