John K. Merriman of Chester, after a short but difficult experience with cancer, passed away at his home while in the extraordinary care of his loving family. 68 years old, John passed on Friday, June 14, 2019. The youngest of three children born to the late John A. and Thelma Martin Merriman, he was born in East Liverpool on September 8, 1950.
A lifelong truck driver, John began at an early age hanging around the garages of Cornell Trucking in Chester before eventually starting to drive. It was a job that he truly loved, and he retired from Murray Trucking in East Liverpool after many, many years of service.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joann Norris.
John leaves his wife, Debbie McCoy Merriman. Married on June 4, 1975, they had just celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. Also left to cherish his memories are his children, John F. Merriman and his wife Bonnie of Chester, and Brian Merriman and his wife Angela of East Liverpool; his brother, Jim Merriman of Chester; and his grandchildren, John E., and Gage Merriman.
