Jerry L. Simmons, 78, of Chester, passed away August 29, 2018, at the Calcutta Health Care in East Liverpool.
Born, December 3, 1939, in East Liverpool, he is a son of the late Edwin L. and Dorothy F. Smith Simmons.
He is also preceded in death by his sisters Janet Beck and Nerita Husk.
Jerry was a member of the Glenmoore Presbyterian Church.
He is a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Jerry was a member of the VFW Post #6450, Judge Advocate and House Committee and American Legion Post #121.
He is survived by his wife Sara Ward Simmons; sons, Randy Simmons and his wife Cindy of East Liverpool, Randall Lee Shust and his wife Tracy of Athens, OH.; daughters, Dawn VanDorn and her husband Greg of Chester, Robin Keys and her husband Donald of Wellsville, OH. and Cassandra Williams and her husband John of Irwin PA.; brother, Glenn Simmons and his wife Nancy of Beaver, PA. and sister Freda Greenwood and her husband Larry of Winter Haven, FL.; he is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time and the Arner Funeral Chapel is in charge of handling his arrangements.
