Youngstown, OH.
Jean M. (Croymans) Putnam, a daughter of the late Henry and Emma Kasuske Croymans, was born in Milbank, South Dakota on August 18, 1952. 67 years old and a resident of East Liverpool, Jean passed away at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown on Thursday, November 7, 2019, following an extended illness.
A member of Hope Christian Fellowship in Wellsville, she had worked several jobs in her lifetime, last working at the DeBartolo Corporation in Boardman for 14 years. After suffering an aneurysm, she was unable to work but loved to keep busy, and for many years she would spend many days each week volunteering at nursing homes, visiting, listening, and cheering up the residents.
Surviving is many nieces and nephews, Julie, Tom, Kathy, David, Jim, Amy, and Richard Croymans, Theresa Crawford, Susan Gannon, Paula Gapp, Cindy Chamley, Marilyn Vosberg, Michelle Lacher, and Scott Pauli.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Putnam; one son, Jacob E. Putnam; one sister, Arlene (Croymans) Pauli; three brothers, Gary, Milton (James), and Melvin Croymans; one nephew, Mike Pauli; and one niece, Anne Croymans.
Following the death of her husband, her and her special friend, Cindy Kinest were inseparable and brought much joy to each other’s lives.
A memorial service to celebrate Jean’s life is being planned. The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester is assisting her family with these arrangements.
