Gerald E. “Jerry” Boyd, 68, of East Liverpool, passed away following a lengthy illness, Sunday, April 22, 2019, at the East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born, January 30, 1951, in East Liverpool, he was a son of Laura Mills Boyd of East Liverpool and the late Jesse Boyd.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Carl Boyd.
Jerry was a graduate of East Liverpool High School. He was a proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War in Fort Dix, NJ. He was a mechanic by trade, owning and operating Jerry’s Auto Repair since 1980. He was very proud of his business and enjoyed helping people.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Laura Mills Boyd; daughter, Angela Miller and her husband Scott of East Liverpool, granddaughter, Chelsea Boyd-Toothman (Anthony) of Wellsville; grandsons, Cody, and Ricky Brightwell; great-grandchildren, Marissa Boyd, Isaiah Boyd, and Nicholas Barker; sisters, Diana Earl of East Liverpool, Patty Scarlott of Wellsville, Tila Miller of Salineville and Darlene Boyd of FL.. He is also survived by David Gamble, who was like a son, as well as, Jeremiah Calhoun, whom he helped raise. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins survive as well.
Pastor Mark Blakely will celebrate Jerry’s life, Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 3:00 PM, at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the services, from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM. Private interment will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in East Liverpool.
