George M. Donaldson, 65, of Salineville, died at 8:58 AM, Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.
He was born on August 2, 1953, to Alice McIntire Donaldson of Salineville and the late Alvin Donaldson.
George was a 1971 graduate of Southern Local High School, 1976 graduate of Kent University and a 2008 graduate of Walden University with a master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction.
He was a teacher at Edison Local School District from 1973-2008 and Instructional Supervisor/Educational Advisor at Buckeye Online School for Success in East Liverpool from 2009-2017.
George took great pride in his theatre productions at Edison and previously at Southern Local High School. He was also a 4-H advisor with Highlandtown 4-H club for 48 years. Being in the 4H started his passion for photography. His brothers were assisting him with the grand opening of his photography studio, his sign was ready to hang. George loved his hostas, dahlias, and cannas, he spent numerous hours tending to them.
Surviving besides his mother Alice is his wife of 42 years, June Wagner Donaldson; brother, Alvin Donaldson of Wellsville, brother, Victor Donaldson and his wife Elizabeth of Lisbon, sister, Margaret Donaldson Fisher and her husband Kenneth; two stepbrothers, Matthew, and David Donaldson; nieces, Allison and Rachael and a nephew, Christopher. He is also survived by his canine companion Chinook his “lover girl”.
A Celebration of his life will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019, at the Kiwanis Park in Salineville off of Main St. at 3:00 PM. The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester was entrusted with handling these arrangements.
