Firman H. “Bud” Humme Jr., 87, a lifelong resident of Chester, passed away at the Brightwood Center in Follansbee on Thursday, July 11, 2019, following a long illness.
Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on January 29, 1932, Bud was a son of the late Firman H. Humme Sr. and Margaret Gittings Humme Vandine.
For over 50 years, Bud was an over the road truck driver. He retired from Murray Trucking in East Liverpool. His most memorable times in life were spending time with his family and attending family gatherings. He was active in his children’s lives as a football coach for the Chester Mice Football Team. Bud was a Christian by faith, and he was a graduate of the former Chester High School.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Humme on April 27, 2019, his daughter, Terry Goza; his son Brad Humme; his brother, Joe Humme; and his sisters, Mildred McLane, and Maureen Wells.
Surviving is two sons, Rick Humme and his wife Susan of Anderson, SC., and Mike Humme and his wife Miok of Tucson, AZ. In addition, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church in Wellsville will conduct services at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Tuesday, July 16, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell. Friends are invited to visit the family at the funeral home on Monday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
