Edward Joseph Loftus Jr., 86, of East Liverpool, passed away, Monday, January 22, 2018, at the East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born, December 20, 1931, in Midland, PA.; he was a son of the late Edward J. and Catherine Anderson Loftus.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Stover Loftus and by his sister, Marcella Reese.
Edward was a Baptist by faith and a graduate of Midland Lincoln High School.
Edward was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War.
In 1982 he retired from Crucible Steel where he worked as in inspector in the coal strip. After retirement, he worked for 18 years in the housekeeping department at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center in Columbiana.
Survivors include, daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Wright of East Liverpool and Trudi Higgins of East Liverpool; brother, B. Patrick (Mimi) of Montgomery, TX., his sister, Mary Monach of Rochester, PA., and his grandchildren, Hannah Charlotte and Gracie Lynn Higgins and he also leaves behind a very special niece that he adored, Carol Reese (Roger) Linville.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the fifth floor at East Liverpool City Hospital for the compassionate and special care shown to their loved one.
In fulfilling his wishes no services are planned. The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester has been entrusted with these arrangements.
