David E. Geer, 87 of New Cumberland, passed peacefully at his home on Monday, August 20, 2018, following a brief illness.
He was born in Chester on December 25, 1930, to the late Paul O. and Cecil Keeper Geer.
He retired from the J & L Steel in Midland. Dave was an early pioneer in the local motorcycle industry. He began Geer Suzuki Shop in Chester in 1969 and operated it for several years, as well as Geer Auto Sales.
A Christian by faith, he was a graduate of the former Wells High School in Newell.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Clyde Geer, and two sisters, Martha Streets and Ruby Talbot.
Dave leaves his loving wife, Audrey Sprout Geer; two children, David (Brenda) Geer of New Cumberland, and Linda (Jim) Hall of Newell; one sister, Mable Mink of Chester; three grandchildren, Trudy (Adam) Swiger, Trisha (Josh) Barile, Tasha (Brock) Beatty, and Tracey Hall; and six great-grandchildren, Brodi, Ryder, Hailee, Landon, Addison, and Elijah.
Private services were held at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester and entombment was at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
