Blaine M. Schon of Chester passed peacefully in the presence of his loving daughters, who also were his caregivers, at his home on Monday, March 25, 2019, following a brief illness.
90 years old, Blaine was a lifetime resident of Chester, he was born here on November 10, 1928. He was a son of the late Hubert J. and Teressa Marie Pinney Schon.
A lover of animals, he retired as the Humane Officer for Hancock County. Blaine was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and he was a 1947 graduate of the former Chester High School.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Elton Armstrong Schon, who he married on May 5, 1949. Also preceding him were two sons, Dale and Joe Schon, and two brothers, Dale and Robert Schon.
His surviving family members are his three daughters, Linda (Tony) Butto of New Manchester, Edna (Bob) Drane of Calcutta, and Peggy (Randy) Moore of Calcutta. Also, there are eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Rev. Milo Baker will celebrate Blaine’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. Friends are invited to visit with family at the funeral home on Friday three and a half hours prior to the service, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. Private interment will be Saturday at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester.
