Margaret A. "Peg" Anderson, 95, of Hookstown, PA passed away at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph Personal Care in Baden, PA on Friday, March 15, 2024. Peg was born in Steubenville, OH on January 30.1929. Her parents, Ralph and Leona Hartley Cochran moved to Dexter, NM where she grew up and graduated from high school. Before being married Peg worked as a secretary at Weirton Steel.
Peg's life was her family and her Church. Peg was a loyal member of the Mill Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Hookstown, PA serving as an Elder, Treasurer, and Sunday School teacher. She attended Community Bible Study for many years. She was an active member of the Church Women's Association preparing meals and numerous pies for Church events and the Hookstown Fair. She was a member of the South Side Senior Citizens.
Peg's parents, her husband James B. Anderson, Sr., and her son Larry R. Anderson preceded her in death.
Peg's children will deeply miss her, James B. (Susan) Anderson, Jr. of Chester, WV, Janet (James) Deem of Midland, PA, Robert (Michelle) Anderson of Rochester, NY, and her daughter-in-law Marjorie Anderson of Beaver, PA. Ten grandchildren survive as well. Craig Anderson and Brad (Amanda) Anderson, Leann (Matt) Davis, Matthew Deem, and Maureen Deem, Ashley (Matt) Steger, Shellby Anderson and Travis Anderson, Erin (Matthew) Ran, Kelley (Brian) Anderson-Brummitt, and ten great-grandchildren, Carter, Addisyn, Korinne, Kenzington, Karoline, Logan, Emily, Cooper, Brody, and Brooks. The family wishes to thank her good friend Sandy Wilson and the nurses and aides at Concordia.
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Thursday at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, WV. from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Peg's nephew, Pastor Rickey Anderson will officiate at a celebration of her life on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the Mill Creek Evangelical Church of Hookstown. Interment will follow at the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mill Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Hookstown.
