William D. “Bill” Friley passed away at his home in Chester on Thursday, February 16, 2016 after becoming suddenly ill.
63 years old, Bill was born in East Liverpool on March 9, 1953 to the late Willis and Donna J. Smith Friley.
He was retired from the maintenance department at Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort and had also worked in the test barn for the West Virginia Racing Commission. In his child hood he had been a member of the Chester First Church of the Nazarene. Bill was a 1971 graduate of Oak Glen High School, had attended West Virginia Northern Community College and graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1991. He was an avid woodworker and he was well versed in military and funeral service history.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Friley.
Bill leaves his brother, Randy Friley of Chester; and his sister, Ruth Booth of Napoleon, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pastor Len Peeler will celebrate Bill’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Tuesday, February 21 at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
