Thomas J. Mackewich, 71 of Weirton (formerly of Pittsburgh) passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at home surrounded by his wife and children following a three year battle with cancer.  

He was born in Pittsburgh on June 13, 1945 and he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa Koltuniak Mackewich.

Tom was a retired technician for JD Vending Company of Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh and from the HVAC program at Tri-Angle Tech. Tom was a member of the Marland Heights Community Church.

One son, Thomas P. Mackewich preceded him in death along with three brothers, Ray, Richard, and Joe Mackewich.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Diane Schroeder Mackewich; his children, Keith (Jennifer), Brian Plata, Jamie Stewart, and Jodi Speicher (Leo); his step-children, Chad Shipley (Caitie), Doris Crawford, and Natalie Russell (Kevin); thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 23rd from 2-4 & 6-7:30 p.m. at the Marland Heights Community Church in Weirton, immediately followed by a short service conducted by Pastor John Westling.  Arrangements by the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Valley Hospice of Rayland, OH.
