Welcome to the memorial page for

Jeffrey Paul Sherman

April 9, 1966 ~ February 10, 2017 (age 50) 50 Years Old

Jeffrey Paul Sherman, age 50, of Great Falls, MT, passed away at Peace Hospice on February 10, 2017, holding his wife’s hand and surrounded by his loving family.  He lost his brief, yet brave fight against pancreatic cancer.

Jeffrey was born on April 9, 1966, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to Paul D. and Mary Lee Sherman and was brought up in Chester, West Virginia.  He graduated from Oak Glen High School in 1984 and attended Kent State University, attaining his degree in Criminal Justice in 1988.  He married Connie (Quick) Sherman of Newell, West Virginia, in 1989 and enlisted in the United States Air Force the following year.

Jeff and Connie began their Air Force adventure at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas, where they were blessed with two children, Evan Jeffrey in 1992 and Emily Beth in 1994.  Jeff’s greatest joy was being a family man.  He adored his wife and was dedicated to his children, loving them all with his whole heart.  Assignments to Incirlik Air Base in Turkey, McChord Air Force Base in Washington, Mildenhall Air Base in England, and Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana followed.   Jeff also served overseas on many other shorter term assignments to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Greenland.  Jeff retired from the Air Force after 21 years. While his family was extremely proud of Jeff’s service to his country, he remained humble and preferred to think his roles as husband and father were what truly defined him as a person.  At the time of Jeff’s cancer diagnosis, he was employed at Federal Express as a courier to remote parts of Montana.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Connie, children Evan, Emily, and their adopted son Scott Hill, mother Mary Lee Sherman, brothers Ralph (Cathy) Sherman, Joe (Nancy) Paulauskas, John (Debbie) Paulauskas, Jim Paulauskas, sisters Pamela Jones and Lee Ann (Lee) Huff, many nieces and nephews, father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Barbara Quick, and his best friend since childhood, Jonathan Loucas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Sherman, a sister Becky Sherman, and a brother Bill Sherman.

Jeff will be remembered for his generous heart, a strong work ethic, a wonderful sense of humor, his immeasurable love for his wife and children, his fondness for his dogs, and as a loyal friend.   He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle.

He will be laid to rest in his beloved state of West Virginia at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell following funeral services on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Pastor Scott Henry of the Glendale Nazarene Church will officiate.

Jeff will be given full military honors by the Air Force Honor Guard and the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
