Frank Mader Jr. 84 of the Calcutta Health Care Center passed away there on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 following an extended illness.

On May 10, 1932, Frank was born in Chester and resided there most of his life. He was a son of the late Frank Mader Sr. and Elizabeth Smith Mader.

Frank was a machinist and for 30 years worked at the McIntosh-Hemphill Foundry in Midland. Later he worked in the storeroom at East Liverpool City Hospital. He was a 1951 graduate of Chester High School and he served his country honorably as a member of the United States Air Force.

Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Mader.

Survivors include his children, Frank Mader III and his wife Sheri, and Steve Mader and his wife Suzanne both of East Liverpool and Kelly Mader of Moon Township, PA; his grandchildren, Frank (Jocelyn) Mader IV and Nicole (Dan) Wilkinson; and three great grandchildren, Max and Evelyn Wilkinson, and Mackenzie.

Pastor Tom Schneidmiller will celebrate Frank’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday at 11:00 AM. Full military honors will be provided by the Air Force Honor Guard and the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group when he laid to rest at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester, following the services. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
