Eldon Lee Rankin Jr., of East Liverpool and formerly of Wellsville passed away at the Calcutta Health Care Center on Saturday, December 16, 2017, following a lengthy illness.

91 years, Eldon was born in Wellsville on June 21, 1926, to the late Eldon L. Rankin Sr. and Bertha Bell Reed Rankin.

He worked as straightener at the former Crucible Steel before retiring and he was 1944 graduate of Wellsville High School.

Eldon was preceded in death by his wife, Stella O. Rankin on August 7, 2015, his daughter, Sandy Coen, his sister, Deloris Rankin and his step-father, George McLaughlin.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Cathy (Jim) Smith of Florida, Jeffrey (Susan) Rankin of Toronto, and Keith (Pauline) Rankin of Lisbon; and his grandchildren, Melissa McRight, Marcie Critteden, Courtney Coen, and Heath and Travis Rankin.

Pastor Tom Schneidmiller will celebrate the life of Eldon Rankin on Monday, December 18, at 12:00 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. He will be laid to rest with his wife Stella at the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
