So sorry to hear about Mr. Smith. I had the pleasure of having him for a Science teacher in middle school. He was such a great teacher. Always had a smile on his face. Please know that the family is in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that God will bless each of you and give you the comfort and peace from this day forward. God Bless!

Doug had the best stories and I enjoyed hearing him reminisce about growing up in Newell. A very humble man who taught more lessons than science in his classroom. He had the best sense of humor and a great outlook on life. My heart is broken for your family. Rest in peace my friend.

To the dear Smith family, Dave and I want to express our sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one, Doug. I didn’t know him as well as Dave because they coached basketball against each other! Dave had mutual respect for Doug as a coach and mentor for so many young people. His presence will be missed by all who knew him. God bless.
