Clyde W. Pritchett,80, of Wellsville, passed away after a brief illness, Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at the East Liverpool City Hospital

Born, November 5, 1937, in Ravenswood, WV., he was a son of the late Elmer and Alice Archer Pritchett.

Clyde suffered the loss of his wife, Mary J. Pritchett in 2017, they were married for 50 years. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Arch Pritchett.

He was a graduate of Chester High School, where he excelled in basketball. After high school, Clyde played basketball for West Virginia University where he received his bachelor’s degree. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he continued his basketball career.  

Clyde retired from Edison Local School District, where he taught Physical Education and formerly coached the football and basketball teams.

He was a Christian by faith, an avid member of the YMCA, a member of the VFW, American Legion and Elks Lodge # 1040 in Wellsville. Clyde enjoyed working out, walking, studying genealogy, traveling and his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Clyde is survived by his children, Alicia (Kevin) Pritchett Young and her son Troy Tennant, Sheri Pritchett and her son Cole Williams, his step-children, Rick (Deb) Reuter and their children, Dana (Andy) Vulgamore (3 great grandchildren), Adam Reuter and his fiancé Emilee Morelli (5 great grandchildren), Debbie (Colin) Goddard and their daughter, Amanda (Cody) Lynch ( 1 great-great grandchild), Patty (Jorge) Flores and their children, Eric Flores (Jenna Wheeler) (1 great grandchild) and Dustin Flores, Mary Ann Reuter and her daughter, Leigh Anne ( Brian) Kocanjer ( 5 great grandchildren); Thelma Sue (Chris) Kelly ( 3 grandchildren). Clyde also leaves behind the step-granddaughter that he raised, Tracy Amato (the late Marcus Amato) (2 great grandchildren), his Aunt Pearl Archer Tallman of Ravenswood, WV; sisters-in-law, Thelma Eiferd (Bernie Veglia) and Patricia Snelson, two nieces, Lynn & Lori; and several cousins.  Clyde will be sadly missed by his friends and family and by his dog, Shadow, and cat, Baby.

A private memorial service will be held at later date. Arrangements were in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
