Blondena Belle “Bonnie” Pugh passed peacefully at the Stone Pear Pavilion at Fox Crest on Saturday evening, October 7, 2017.

91 years old and a resident at the Stone Pear Pavilion for several years, Bonnie had become a favorite of the staff.

A lifelong area resident, she was born in New Cumberland on June 11, 1926, to the late Russell and Mary Belle Brown Hogue.

Bonnie was a homemaker and matriarch of the family-owned dairy farm near Chester. Also, along with her husband, the late Carl Pugh, she was the co-owner of Pugh Milk Hauling. She was a member of the New Manchester Christian Church and she was a 1944 graduate of New Cumberland High School. Also Bonnie was a member of CEO’S where she was the Hancock County Belle in the year 2000, she was active in the Pioneer 4-H Club where she earned several awards for her baking, and she was a passionate Bingo player, and a member of Singing Seniors at the Hancock Senior Center, where she enjoyed many trips, including three to Branson, MO.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Carl A. Pugh, her son, Clarence Pugh, and her siblings, Ernest, Denver, Zelda, Barbara, and Carol.

Bonnie leaves her children, Carla Fryer, Judy Bryan, Pat Williams, Howard Pugh and wife Debbie, Jim Pugh, and Jeff Pugh and wife Karen; her sister, Violet, 93 of AZ; Seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.  

Friends and family will gather for visitation today, Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Pastor Dennis Arnold will celebrate Bonnie’s life at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest with Carl at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester following the Tuesday Services.
