Alice Muir Owen, 29 plus, a longtime resident of Chester, passed away at the Weirton Medical Center on Monday Night, July 24, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
Born on August 15 in Lorain Ohio, Alice was a daughter of the late Clarence and Grace Jackson Muir.
She was a cashier and clerk at the former Siff’s Shoe Store in East Liverpool and later worked at Acme Crafts in Wellsville. Also, Alice was a loving homemaker, caring for her children and husband. She attended Wellsville schools and she was an active and loyal member of the St. Clair Ave. Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Edson “Keen” Owen and a daughter, Cindy.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Jeffery Owen and his wife Amy of Chester and Linda Morgan and her husband Russell of Georgetown, PA. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Nicole (Brad) Piper and their soon to be daughter, Hillary Morgan, Paris (Austin) Hughes, Keen Owen and Autumn (Shawn) Troutman; three sisters, Florence Calhoun of East Liverpool, Clarice Cronin of Chester, and Kathleen Amodie of Pulaski, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, where Evangelist Will Montgomery will celebrate Alice’s life on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park in Calcutta.
